January 2012

I know I've been very bad at updating my site recently (such as the last few years!). I can only put it down to buying a house, going to Singapore for 3 months, starting a new job, visiting 10 new countries and things like that. I've started to put a couple of new albums up, such as from my Japan trip and from my local stomping ground, the Cairngorms. Hopefully this marks a new start!

March 2010

I've finally got around to adding some new photos. You'll find photos of my trip up to Tromsų in Northern Norway and to Copenhagen under the Scandinavia album. It was a great trip with plenty of snow and some excellent night's watching the aurora.

I've been making a couple of changes to the website over the past week, converting the databases into something a little more intelligent. Hopefully this hasn't been too much of a disruption.

There are lots of positive points about this: hopefully the site will run a little quicker and be a little bit easier to maintain and add photos to. The menu system has been re-organised slightly to allow my photos to be grouped into categories. The new database allows searching of these and I'm considering adding a search box to the site.

Canada photos! My photos from my fantastic trip to Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies are now online. Click on the link on the right to see the photos.

April 2009

Apologies if you've tried to look at my website over the last couple of days, it was brought to my attention the site was down - I was getting too popular and ran out of bandwidth! All should now be sorted.

March 2009

New tripod! It was time to spend some money (not that I hadn't spent enough already in March on holidays) on a new tripod. I've gone for a Manfrotto 190CX with 322RC2 joystick head. I'm immediately impressed, the quality is fantastic, my camera is solidly attached and the joystick head is amazing. It's also light enough to lug around.

I haven't really used it yet though, but I've got a week over on the west coast next month which I am so looking forward to, so watch this space!

February 2009

I've made a couple of quick changes to the site's style sheet which means that hopefully it will fit into a single screen when viewed with Firefox. Apparently it had been misbehaving when using Internet Explorer (don't blame me - talk to Microsoft) but that too is now hopefully all sorted.

I'll get around to adding some more photos to the site soon too!

November 2008

Welcome to my new website.

I've decided to redevelop my existing website to make everything look a bit smarter. It's based on the same code as the old website, but things are hopefully a lot better aranged on the screen now. One of the main problems with the old design was that there wasn't really anywhere to include any text if I wanted. This is now easy.

Another plus with the new website is that the photos are all slightly larger too.

Some pages on the site are still under a bit of development, so there's no dedicated home page yet, for example.
